WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

We encourage all children to have introductory visits, your first visit will enable your child’s key person to familiarise themselves with you, your family and your child.
You will complete an ‘All About Me’ section on our parent app
and discuss this with your key person which will give them a
greater understanding of your child and their routines. We are
very sensitive towards the needs of parents and children and we
aim to build a secure and trusting relationship making the transition into nursery a pleasant and happy one for you and your child.
During your second visit you will leave your child to play so they can
become more familiar with their new surroundings, new
friends and the staff who will be looking after them.
Additional visits can be made if you or your child’s key
person feels more visits will be helpful to ensure a
smoother transition into nursery for your child.

We recognise you are your child’s first and most important educators. We aim to support this by working in partnership with you and your family. We initially complete our ‘All About Me’ form with you so you can tell us all about you child. Once your child starts nursery we encourage you to pass on any relevant information about your child at the beginning of each day and we will ensure you have daily feedback on your child’s day when you collect them. Children under two have an individual diary which goes home every day and has detailed information about your child’s day at nursery. We ensure all parents have the opportunity to contribute their own skills and knowledge to the activities in the nursery and positively encourage your comments

We have opportunities for you to spend time with your key person where you can share more in depth information on your child’s development. We recognise your time is often precious so if necessary we will send home information forms for you to complete which will give us more information about your child’s current interests, things they do at home, people they spend time with and things they are learning to do. This ensures continuity of care with home and nursery and ensures we can tailor activities to meet the individual needs and interest of your child.

We have a bimonthly newsletter which will keep you up to date with future events, current topics and other developments within the nursery. Our family notice board is in the entrance corridor and it will contain any up to date information.
